Silkocoons concept Raul Gabriel © (Shangai Expo 2010)
A post organic thought modulated for the Silk Road
The protective form of the cocoons, their connected structure and their final product - life in essence - represent a natural metaphor for human societies and their connections, with the best quality of life they generate. The cocoon, the production site of the silkworm, is the first original and original engine of the Silk Road.
Suggestions
a wired silk weaving, surrounding and integrating silkworm and cocoon-like buildings. While the exchange of information occurs through fiber optics, the movement of people between buildings is enabled by a network of elevated transport routes.
Events
The concept by Raul Gabriel © was awarded at the Sapienza University of Rome and presented among the futuristic solutions for the Silk Road at Shanghai Expo 2010. It is evolving.
CUBE
Cube evolutions
The incidental form of transformation, solidity and compromise, dynamics and stability take two different directions. One created by combining heterogeneous elements, a suggestion on the archaic creation of cities, instinctive, barely regulated by structural needs. The other in which the dynamic element of the first remains in the form of multiple and overlapping subtractions, which compromise the sense of stability by restoring the osmotic sense of exchange with the surrounding environment of the block, which if it remains a monolith, a structure in itself is isolated from the context.
Suggestions
In the 'archaic' cube hides a technological beating heart, an apocryphal library of audiovisual fragments that can only be intuited, of which one can only perceive the reverberation that radiates from the many irregularities of the structure. The irregularity allowed the vital flow.
Events
CUBE was created by Raul Gabriel for Festarch with the patronage of the Perugia architecture foundation
GM TRAFFIC LIGHTS
TALES OF THE CITY
The city is a pulsating biological hybrid of rhythms, spaces, traffic, anthropocentric and anthropophobic, productive and instinctive flow, nourished by many circulatory systems always in conflict with each other. The genetically modified traffic lights are the synthesis that I found of all the stories of Babylon in the 30 seconds at the intersection of Roman Road and Grove road.
Suggestions
The genetically modified traffic lights and the Gothic Vespa summarize the multifaceted and dystopian heart of the metropolitan, apocalyptic and banal flow in a single time where the destinies of everyone and of history are played out.
Events
The installation was created in the spaces of the Casagrande Gallery in Rome
TOPOS TOMIE
Body surgery architecture
TOPO-TOMIE is an exhibition project based on the common reading of two identities, that of the city and that of the human body. This perspective opens up interpretations on the physiological, almost hormonal, dimension of the city and at the same time on the architectural dimension of the body.
The syntax of the rhythms, of the densifications, of the expansions, of the fractionations, of the lines of force of the city and of the human body end up proving homogeneous in Raul Gabriel's work.
The similarity between body and tissue is a much more innervated connection than a romantic conceptual deduction and involves a transversal and at times interchangeable linguistics, which opens up a unitary vision of cognitive and design progress.
Suggestions
The moment the city and the body translate into "writing" (gestural and signs), they automatically generate a code, a form of encryption that aims to be decoded. The same decoding process generates another code, and so on.
